How to travel to Lillehammer
Travelling to Lillehammer in Norway is easy. Lillehammer is located right off the E-6 highway which is the major travel artery from southern to northern Norway. Lillehammer is only 2.5 hours from Oslo by car.

From Oslo Gardermoen Airport to Lillehammer
Lillehammer does not have an airport, but Norway´s main international airport, Oslo Airport Gardermoen, is located only 145 km (90 miles) from Lillehammer. There are frequent bus and train departures from the airport terminal. You can also rent a car at the airport.
The railway station is located in the basement of the airport terminal - easily accessible by escalator from the arrival hall. There are separate platforms for the Airport Express Trains and other trains. All Inter City trains between Skien in the south and Lillehammer in the north (via Oslo) serve Oslo Airport Gardermoen at intervals of 1 hour during most of the day. In addition the long distance and night trains to and from Trondheim serve the airport´s railway station. Travel distance from Gardermoen airport to Lillehammer is approx 1hr 45 minutes. Point-to-point tickets can be purchased on the Internet.Go to Norwegian State Railways (NSB). Type in either “Oslo Lufthavn” or "Gardermoen” in the FROM slot and Lillehammer as the destination, fill in the date and time you land, and then you'll instantly have the train departures around that date and time. Oslo Lufthavn literally means Oslo airport (luft = air, havn = port) and Gardermoen is its geographical name. Both then refer to the airport.

Opening hours vary from company to company, but most of them are open between 07.00–23.30 Monday to Friday, 08.30–19.00 Saturday and 09.00–23.30 Sunday.

Hired cars should be parked at the field Q in the multi-storey car park located next to the terminal. Follow signs “Rental car return”. Key drop-off must be made at the car rental counters in the arrival hall.

From Sandefjord Torp Airport to Lillehammer
From Sandefjord Torp Lufthavn to Oslo there are numerous train departures each day and the travel time is less than 2 hours. You can travel to/from Sandefjord to Lillehammer by train (4 hours). Point-to-point tickets can be purchased on the Internet.Go to Norwegian State Railways (NSB).
Type in either “Torp” or "Sandefjord Lufthavn Torp” in the FROM slot and Lillehammer as the destination, fill in the date and time you land, and then you'll instantly have the train departures around that date and time. Travelling time between the airport and train station is 4 minutes. The shuttlebus leaves from the airport 7 minutes before train depature. The shuttle bus leaves for the airport directly after the train has arrived. You do not need to buy a ticket for the shuttle bus, as your train ticket can be used.
The trains will stop at Sandefjord Torp Lufthavn when the airport is open. The following trains will hence not stop: train from Oslo Central station (Oslo S) 23:43 all days, and on Saturdays train from Oslo Central station 21:43.
