We aim to make the fifth Global Investigative Journalism Conference in Lillehammer, Norway, "compact games". To make it easy this will be the first "all inclusive" GIJ conference.
This year's registration fee is NOK 2000 - before June 1st. If you pay after this date, the price is NOK 2300.
The conference fee covers participation and technical arrangements.
You then have to choose either a HOTEL package or a DAY package if you are not planning to stay at the hotel.
HOTEL PACKAGE
Most of our guests will be accommodated at Radisson SAS Hotel Lillehammer - where all the seminars and meetings take place. We have also reserved rooms at nearby hotels.
The GIJC 2008 steering committee has negotiated a SUPER deal with the hotel. The hotel package includes accommodation and breakfast, lunch and full dinner Thursday thru Saturday, and breakfast /lunch Sunday. This will cover all your food expenses while being on the conference.
The prices are as follows:
Single room 4 nights (Wed-Sun) including all meals and gala dinner Saturday: NOK 6300.
Double room 4 nights (Wed-Sun, per person) including all meals and gala dinner Saturday: NOK 5300
At the rich breakfast and lunch buffets you can eat as much as you please. We can assure you: They are great!
Dinner Thursday and Friday is either buffet or a two course meal.
Dinner Saturday is upgraded banquet dinner with starter, main course and dessert.
You will be served typical Norwegian and Continental food, with a mix of fish, meat and also vegetarian dishes. Please inform us if you have special dietary needs! The hotel serves halal food. Remember also that eating in Norwegian restaurants normally is quite expensive.
DAY PACKAGE
Those who choose NOT to stay at the conference hotel or one of your cooperating hotels, need to buy a day package. We offer three types:
Basic day package with lunches Thursday-Sunday: NOK 3500
Student day package with lunches Thursday-Sunday: NOK 3000
Big day packet with lunches Thursday-Sunday, dinners Thursday-Friday and banquet Saturday: NOK 4580
REFUND POLICY
Registration fee: If you cancel between now and August 1st, we'll return your registration fee minus our costs (see below).
After August 1st: Sorry, no refunds.
Hotel: No refunds for cancellations after August 15th. Before this date, you'll get your money back.
There is a NOK 500 handling fee on all cancellations.
